Buddy Whittington
The Inn at Lathones Largoward, St Andrews
A lifelong Texan, Buddy Whittington 'entered the arena' on
December 28, 1956, in Fort Worth, and became enamored of the
electric guitar like countless kids of his vintage shortly
thereafter, who were mesmerized at the reality that 'you plucked
a string...'here', andthe sound came out...'over THERE.'

Green Pea
AB Paterson Auditorium Byre Theatre St Andrews
Born in Paris in 1976, Pascal Ayerbe calls himself “the sound
scribbler” (le gribouilleur sonore). With a unique blend of
traditional instruments and ordinary everyday items, he creates
his own special world of musical characters. His technique is
scribbling. Take whatever object if it makes noise (plastic
toys, utensils, bowed saw, toy piano), then tame it, give it
another life, another meaning, through sound. Somehow, it is a
lesson of diverting. "Flatten yourself, hide yourself, I stick
my ears everywhere, I strip your attics and hit your saucepans
as does the green woodpecker!" Ayerbe creates music as
discoveries, from haphazard and clumsy strokes of inspiration,
which makes him an unclassifiable key composer. View

Iain Matthews
The Inn at Lathones
Iain Matthews - History so far..
In 1967 Matthews became a founder member of the British folk
rock band, Fairport Convention,
staying with the group for almost 2 years.
In order to facilitate and develop his growing fascination with
American singer/songwriters, in 1969 he formed his own band,
Matthews Southern Comfort, This group spawned a massive European
hit with the Joni Mitchell song "Woodstock". However, within a
year, Matthews felt restricted and began his solo career,
signing with the Vertigo label and a new era began. After 2
albums for the company, once again, he felt the need for newer
pastures and in 1972 Plainsong, a quartet, was formed with
friend Andy Roberts, where together and to high critical
acclaim, they chronicled the exploits of American aviator,
Amelia Earhart. Tickets £15 Tel; 01334 840494

hatred as our land of hope and glory is torn apart. Two

excoriating inquisition into Blighty that fuses theatre, comedy,

CLASSIC CLAPTON are the World's No1 Eric Clapton Tribute Band.
The band was formed in 1985 in Newcastle upon Tyne long before
the term tribute band was invented, and originally named
themselves After Midnight after Eric Clapton’s first solo hit.
Their ability to re-create Clapton’s electrifying stage
performances really caught the audience’s imagination. In
guitar/vocalist Mike Hall, the band possesses a front man who
not only looks like Eric, he sings and plays guitar like him
too! Tickets £20 Tel; 01334 840494

Jackie Leven
The Inn at Lathones Largoward, St Andrews
Born in 1950 into a Romany (Roma) family, Jackie Leven spent his
childhood and teenage years clearly marked out as an outsider in
the clannish, insular world that was Fife, Scotland at that
time. Although Scottish himself, neither of his parents were
from the area - his father was an Irish Cockney, his mother was
from a large Northumberland (Geordie) family, and adapting to
existing cultural norms was a hard, if not formidable task for
such incomers.
